The 2012 Vienna Turkey Trot: 10k, 5k, and Fun Run!

Our 10th Anniversary, November 18, 8:00 A.M.

In commemoration of our 10th anniverary, we added a 10k to make this year's event a true running festival with something for everyone!

Last year nearly 1,100 runners participated - thank you! This year with the addition of our inaugural 10k, we hope to hit our capacity of 1,500! 

The Vienna Turkey Trot is a local charity event that raises money to benefit two vital community organizations: the James Madison High School Marching Band, and the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department. Funds will go towards supporting the band's dream of going to their first national competition, and will also help the fire department pay for their new fire engine!

Enjoy live music by the James Madison Jazz Band, visit our sponsor tables and tour the Vienna fire department! 

We are proud to partner again with DC Road Runners, the capital region's premiere running club. This partnership raises the quality of the event to include secure online registration, use of a chronotrack timing system to "chip time" the race on a USATF certified course! The 10k will be two laps of the 5k course.  It will be a combined start.

For safety and to aid competitive runners, corals will be utilized at the start:

- Coral 1: Under 20min 5k and under 40min 10k

- Coral 2: Under 25min 5k and under 50min 10k

- Coral 3: Over 30min 5k and over 60min 10k

Awards:

As a USATF certified course all awards are based on gun time. $75, a trophy and a free-range, organic turkey from Whole Foods Vienna will be presented to the overall male/female and masters winners, $50 for second place and $25 for third for both 10k and 5k races! Age-group medals will also be given to the top three male/female: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over, and in the stroller pusher category!
